For all those who think cats can't see TV, just now Gilly was watching the
screen saver on the monitor, the one with the goldfish in the aquarium.

Yesterday I came in to find him, nose pressed up against the monitor,
closely observing the same screen saver.

The cats on The Infinite Cat Project seem to like looking at computer
screens:

our cat Speedy likes to watch Animal Planet. Some of our other cats will pay
attention from time to time, but with no real preference. Tiger, though, who
is cerebrally challenged (cat-smart, though , just not people smart),
doesn't even see it.

Both My cats will chase the mouse pointer on my monitor, I sit there and
move it around so they can try to catch it.

Hi everyone

With all the cats that I've had over the years, some have been interested in
TV and others not.  The cats who were interested were generally most keen on
'nature' visuals, particularly birds in flight.  Perhaps they recognise the
outline - something familiar?

One cat that I have at the moment, is very 'people oriented', and will
avidly watch human conversations taking place on the screen.  She will watch
for 20 minutes at a time sometimes.

Isis (RB) used to love wildlife documentaries and car chases and
understood commercial breaks. She would get off your lap and go for a
drink, food and the litter box and be back on the lap for the next part
of the programme

my cat would change the channel to the animal planet during commerical
breaks, and switch back after the lion eats the zebra.

I have a female Ragdoll that particularly likes the ice skating on the
Olympics.
