Make each day the best it can be!
This next question is serious...Am wondering...last night I had two toms on
my back doorstoop. One of a new one not even a year old..I call him Contrary
because he looks like he may be the brother of our Ornery (they are both
black, same size, etc). Anyway....he was trying to mind his own business by
eating some food I had out. Mr Kitty another older, bigger cat was waiting in
the wings "patiently" for him to finish. When Contrary was finished eating,
Mr K took off after him. Now the little one did have a faster speed on
him...My question is (finally), when toms get into fights, do they call a
truce or what? I was concerned about Contrary that he would get hurt, but
more concerned about me, if I were to get in the middle of their fight.
Any thoughts on how toms may end their squabbling?
Thanks.

Depends on the cats. Some will end the squabbling tomorrow. Others
will last as long as the Isreali-Hamas dispute which spelled the
end of peace chances in the mid-east.

True.
If the 2 Toms are relatively equal in strength.....it can go on for
years.
But strength is the deciding factor. It's the law of the jungle.
If a Tom shows his overwhelming strength, the lesser will yield
willingly.
But when the dominate Tom gets old, younger stronger cats become the
new leaders,
and the old Tom will know this one way or the other.
That said, I'm glad I have a female. So much easier.
