I was going to dangle some toys from a cat post I'm making.

Here's some ideas I had:

1.  A piece of wood with feathers stuck in the sides and back to
resemble a bird using kite string to dangle it.

2.  A wine cork with feathers stuck in the sides also hanging from kite
string.

3.  A flexible rod with string on the end with a dangly on the end
sticking out of the top of the pole.

4.  A ping pong ball hanging by a string from the top of the pole.

5.  A ping pong ball with feathers in the sides hanging from a string.

6.  A regular piece of sisal rope knotted on the end.  Simple but
perhaps effective.

7.  A tennis ball hanging from some string.

8.  A bag filled with beans hung from some string.  This will give way
a bit and give the impression of muscle.

What do you think of these and does anyone have some that their cat
seems to enjoy a lot?

Well, this isn't a cat scratch post or tree sort of thing, but our cats
love this "bag" it's a soft material, but in between the material there
is this really noisy material.  When the jump on it or play with it
they really seem like the noise.  I have a picture of one of the cats
inside the bag hiding here:

His name is "Samba" btw.
