Came back from a walk and stripped off my sweaty shirt a couple days ago and
laid it down, been cats favorite place since, rolling around like it's
catnip.

i too notice that my cats like to lay down on my clothes.  they would
even drag my jacket off the coat rack just so they can perch on it.
what gives?  anybody have an explanation?

Well not an explanation, but my cats love to lay on my wife's robe or my
pajamas, and this is during the day. Figure them out? I don't think they
even want me to.

I don't know, but my cat decided that my new wool jacket must be a new
scratching post.  No more tossing it on the couch, it +must+ go into
the closet.

my cat scratched up a brand new $500 leather jacket from macy's once.
apparently, it must be very pleasing to scratch nice, soft, rich
leather compared to
the scratching post.

I think you mean your $25 vinyl jacket from Kmart

Act of "claiming"  --  "This is mine".  My cat claims anything brought
into the house.
