Is there any easy way to have two cats eat different food besides feeding
them in separate rooms with the doors closed and then taking the food away?
I have a kitten who needs to be eating nutrient rich, growth formula kitty
food, but my roommate's cat is a little over weight and she doesn't want him
gaining any more by eating the kittens food over his own adult maintenance
formula.   I am new to living with cats, so all advice is appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Kate

That's what I would do unless you let them eat together, but stop them
swapping bowls by saying no and putting them back to the right bowls! :-)

As long as the adult cat's food is regular (non diet) and a premium brand
(Eukanuba, Nutro, Science Diet, etc.) or better, you can feed it to your
kitten too without any ill effects. Do try to feed canned food, it's better
for cats than dry food.
