Weeble Wobblybottom is growing like a weed! He's 1lb 3oz! When I first got
him, I could hold him in one hand, and the flea comb was bigger than he
was - no more. He can almost get out of his nest-box - he actually can if
we fold down the flaps that make the lid (we usually leave them standing up,
since we're using a DVD player box, it's kinda short).
All day Thursday, he only piddled when I fed him, not the usual waterworks
when I massaged his bum. Early Friday, when I went to change the towels in
his nest-box, I found out why: one corner of the towel was very damp! So I
fashioned a litterbox out of one of the cardboard trays that canned d*g/cat
food is bundled in, put that in his nest-box with him, and 3 hours later at
his next feeding - he'd used it! All day Friday I kept hoping for him to
poop in it, but he'd only pee - but this morning, he'd pooped in it!!! The
bad part is he's still a bit un-coordinated and unable to clean himself down
there (that fat kitten-belly gets in the way), although, he does wash his
feet, legs and belly/chest after a meal.
No new pictures yet, it now takes 2 people to take the pictures as he's more
active (one to corral/hold Weeble, one to take the pics), and my DH is
working all weekend. Hopefully this evening we can coordinate some new ones
for Weeble's album on Webshots. I'll post an update when I get them
uploaded.

CONGRATS
I know it may sound weird to some getting excited about a kitten going
poop in a llitter box but I felt the same when mine first did.
Prayers and purrs for you and Weebles that he continues making
progress.

Not if you've been playing mama cat and cleaning him everytime he
"goes"! It's a neccesary part of raising a too early orphaned kitten,
but it's not a task anyone treasures.

Congrats!!!!
Magic Mood Jeep? - 13 Sep 2003 19:27 GMT
Thanks. As I was typing my original post, I could hear him 'calling' me, so
as soon as I hit send, I went to go warm up his food - but when I got there,
he wasn't very hungry... he apparently been pooping! It seems he doesn't
much like to poop - too much work involved, I guess - so he lets everyone
know how upset he is over it by 'screaming' about it!

Aw, poor baby is finding out how hard life is! Congrats on the successful
litterbox training.

Isn't it funny the things us cat people get excited about!! When my kittens
use the litter tray for the first time it's phone calls alround to my
breeder friends - non cat people would just not understand.

Some of them aren't exactly in focus, but the little buggar won't hold
still... unless he's sleeping, and sleeping kitten pictures get kinda boring
after a while.
Also, on his face you can see a few white hairs, specifically one just to
the left (our right) of center on his lower forehead, and the weird thing is
that Tennessee had that exact same 'mark' and I doubt if the two are related
(we've had Tennessee for about 9 years now, and we had him fixed at 6 months
of age. Also, Tennessee was born in a friend's barn about 40 or so miles
from here).

I enjoy seeing pictures of Weeble, but I have a big concern - his
mother. If you haven't seen her can you try leaving food out and see if
she starts coming around and ask around the neighborhood to see if
anyone has seen or is feeding her? You really need to catch her and get
her spayed before she gets pregnant again and has another litter. It's
the right thing to do, and will prevent a lot of future suffering.

What a cute little fuzzface.

He is adorable....he looks like a "little cat" now instead of a cute ball of
fluff. Mind you...he is still just as cute.
Do you think he will be black? He looks like he might have a bit of silver
fur on him, but perhaps thats from the camera.
The one where Tennessee was hissing at him......he didn't seem at all
worried by it....
Keep up the updates.
Angela and Gizmo
PS. You are going to keep him right?

Weeble has some long white hairs on his legs & belly, and a few isolated
white hairs around his eyes and on the edges of his (now huge) ears.
The one with Tennessee hissing at him was taken a split second after they
touched noses. We had Weeble on the bed for his 'exercise' (toddling around
and wrestling with our hands like he would with his brothers and/or
sisters), when Tennessee jumped up on the bed & wanted attention too. Then
Tennessee sees Weeble, steps over and they sniff, then they immediately each
take one step back & Tennessee hissed. Then Tennessee fled the room. Poor
Weeble seemed a bit befuddled at that, seeing as how he probably thought he
had a new playmate. This was not their first encounter, either.

And may I say Tennessee looks very impressive when he hisses! Like a
panther. Those fangs! Hope he and Weeble can become friends eventually.
