My 15  year old cat sneezes occasionally, but otherwise seems in good
health. Should I be concerned about it?    Thanks   Richard

times over the course of 2 minutes.

did you tally the sneezes.  You probably missed a
few it was probably more then 50.

maybe your cat caught bird flu from a migratory pigeon.  make sure he
does not sneeze on you.

Depends. How often is "occasionally"?  It could be just a bit of dust in
the air. My cats will sneeze every now and then. Usually it will be 2 or 3
or more times in a day, then nothing for days or weeks at a time.

If the frequency is increasing I'd start looking for the cause, whether
it's dust or pollen or some type of infection.

She/he could be allergic to something. Just keep a close eye on
her/him.

When my Big Mama was younger she was sneezing off and on for a couple
weeks.
At first I thought she had a cold. After a week, I thought she had an
allergy.
Finally I saw what I thought was a snot booger in her nose, so I
decided to wipe her nose.
I wound up pulling out a blade of grass about 3" long stuck in her
nasal passage !

Occasionally?  Depends on your definition.
Once in a month.  Probably not a concern
Once a day ....I'd bring my cat to a vet.
Start a little tally, if the number increases or if you start to hear
difficulty breathing, advise your vet.

If my cat sneezed a couple of times a day I don't think it would
bother me that much.  I've had a cat for long enough to differentiate
between a harmless sneeze and a sick cat.

By the way, I sneeze three or four times a day due to allergies, and I
take medication for it.  Should I rush out to see my doc?  I think
not!

Foreign bodies, non-malignant polyps, and nasal tumors can cause sneezing in
cats.  If my cat sneezed every day, I'd be concerned for my cat, even if it
didn't "bother me".

You did see a Doc, and now you have medication for your illness.

In human years your cat is about 78 years old. He/she may be due for a
physical.

The sneezing seems to have tapered off to nothing. I haven't heard one in a
couple of days. I am guessing it was some kind of alergy. Thanks for all the
advice.
