Response to catnip I've heard is partly genetic. There are some cats
who go wild for the stuff and some don't. Fugazi (RB) was mad for it
but her sister Isis (RB)would stand there watching Fugazi rolling about
with a catnip mouse and the look on her face seemed to say "Oh the
shame! My sister is a junkie!"

I think catnip is good for cats.  It is the equivalent of veggies for
humans.  If my cats don't take catnip, how do I get them to eat some
plants to help their digestive system flush out?

How do you know they don't?  My cat regularly comes out in the garden
to "help" me,  and I always see him nibbling at grass.  Are  your cats
indoors?  If so, you can get plants at cat stores.  Ripoff prices, but
betterthan nothing for indoor cats.

Your cat will eat grass - Kitty Grass (sold commercially) will suffice if
you have no long grass.  Or you could let a corner of your lawn (if you have
one) grow longer just for kitty.

As to making kitty happy, love and attention always has that effect.
Praise, groom and play with your cat - my cats thrive on it.  Incidentally,
they are not affectd by catnip either.

So y'all think my cat would like catnip? ... She loves going outside to
#1 roll in the dirt and #2 chew on weeds (not grass.)  I've been
thinking about growing some catnip indoors to appease her desire for #2
and avoid #1.

Thanks!

it's probably kind of the same some people like to
smoke pot some don't. SOme like to drink some
don't.  Same with a cat i imagine.  We had two
cats too, one lived the catnip, the other cared
less usually (although it rarely would come out
enjoy the nip)

What makes you think they need drugs?  Projecting a human POV?
