Doesn't really add up - why the hell would you call your son instead
of the fire department?

Why would her son, the firefighter do something about whatever was
smoldering?

And it's also a stretch to say the cat saved her.

Woman Says Cat Saved Her From Fire

POSTED: 5:31 pm EDT October 25, 2005

NORA SPRINGS, Iowa -- Linda Froning's cat may have shared one of its
nine lives. Froning said she was asleep on a couch last Thursday
morning when her cat jumped on her, waking her up to a house full of
smoke.

Froning said she called her son, Jamie, a Nora Springs volunteer
firefighter who works for Mason City.

Jamie Froning said he told his mom to get out of the house and then
called the fire department.

The house was full of smoke when he showed up, he said.

"I was standing on the deck, taking care of my mom, when the couch
burst into flames," he said.

He said he went into the house and pulled the couch outside.

Assistant Fire Chief Dean Kock said there was a little damage to the
family room.

"There is mostly smoke damage," he said.

Linda Froning was treated at a Mason City hospital for smoke
inhalation and released, her son said.

Uhhh...maybe because he works for the VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT.

Because 1.  he is a firefighter 2. he is her son.

Here if you call 911 you get the fire department.  The same fire
department
her son the volunter firefighter works at.

No it isn't.

the same women that call their husband first when some is breaking in.  The
same men who call out to their mothers when they get hurt.   Natural
reaction in stress situation is to look to someone you trust

Sorry for the typo -

I meant to ask, why WOUDN'T he do something about something that was
smoldering until it caught fire.
