There was a discussion earlier about Mary Kay,Inc usine animals for
testing, etc. I wrote to them personally, and here is there reply:
I hope this helps clear up this matter. If not, there's nothing more I can
say...

Mary Kay Inc. does not use animals in the testing of its products
and does not have animal testing done by anyone else on its behalf.
No one has conducted any product tests using animals for Mary
Kay since 1989.

Mary Kay Inc. has long supported the research and development
of alternative testing procedures that measure the safety and
quality of ingredients and products without using animal testing.

To signify our commitment, Mary Kay Inc. has signed a document
drafted by the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics,
supported by such organizations as People for the Ethical Treatment
of Animals (PETA), The Humane Society of the United States and
the Doris Day Animal League. This contract, commonly known as
the "PETA Pledge," provides our assurance that, not only do we
not conduct any animal testing, we will not use animal testing
at any time in the future.

Mary Kay Inc. continues to actively sponsor the development of
alternative testing procedures, supporting such organizations
as the Johns Hopkins Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing
and the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association in their
programs to develop effective alternative testing methods.

I don't think they'd admit it, however, you know the exposes that have
brought so many other cosmetic (usually some cologne) companies to light?
She's been with them for 12 years and would leave in a heartbeat if she
heard anything like that. I think this time they're actually innocent.

I believe that they do not do animal testing...And it's one's choice to
believe or not in whether they are telling the truth...

I'm all in favor of animal testing.   I want to know that my cats did
well in the math and science sections.
