Hi

I have a 17 week old Persian and on Saturday (17/09/05) she lost all the
whiskers on one side of her cheek, is this normal or should I be worried?
she seems fine is very active and eating well.

Thank you for you help,
Susannah

Have you got an open fire or similar she could have sniffed too close to?
Persians are not the brightest breed at the end of the day even when adult
let alone a kitten. :)

Hi Niel H,

No we don't have an open fire, she is an indoor cat as you say persians
don't seem to be as bright as other cats!

I know cats can lose whiskers but I've just never had one lose them all at
once like she has.

Thanks for your reply,
Susannah

Open electrical socket? Children with scissors? Something sharp left on the
floor? Keep an eye out over the next few weeks for them growing back. Don't
be surprised if you see her accidentally banging her head into things. Cat
use whiskers as a sensor tool.
