My Cat - 12/13 years old - over the last week has started walking like John
Wayne - back legs very stiff unbending.

Doesn't seem to be in any pain or discomfort - though having a bit of
trouble jumping up on things.

She hates to go to the vet - who in any case is useless & expensive.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like it could be arthritis. 12/13 years old is about right for
a normal-onset.

Find a vet that isn't useless.
