I am moving into an apartment this friday in which
my landlord is a cat lover and she said i can get
a cat.
I love cats, i've always had a cat growing up.
I wanna get a female/front claws declawed/ spaded.
I am hoping it doesn't ruin the furniture in the
apartment as it is brand new. Not my furniture
but the landlords furniture but she said it's ok.
Overall, a cat isn't going to scratch up and ruin
my furniture? right? I mean, most cats seem to
be low maintenance, but i know that one in 10 cat
is going to be crazy and cause some damage.
Any advice on what to look for when i'm looking
for a cat. Breed isn't all that important, except
i want something shorthair. I will probably check
the papers to see if anybody is trying to get rid
of a cat (that way i know of the cats temparament
ahead of time), but i will probably pick one out
at the animal shelter. Want a cat that is young
but not a kitten.

I've changed my mind since i posted. I will not
declaw my cat if it's declawed it's because it was
already declawed. I changed my view on that
issue. I just thought i'd note it.

Thanks,Bryan, I am not sure if you read the previous posts on declawing, but
I really dont feel like going thru that again! Enjoy your new kitty! And
your new apartment,too!
