Hi There.
Anybody got a leather suite and cat? We are thinking of getting one
but! At the moment the chair arm and back are used as a launch pad to reach
the window sill. What happens on a leather one when the rear claws are
extended for take off? Do we end up with thousands of tiny holes aka tea
bags or scratches. Hoping the leather is too tough for them to mark.
Cheers Neil.
Neil,
Hope not, but all furniture is really the cats' anyway. We have tiny holes
in our tablecloth, can you guess why?

My house is leather free (hippy vegetarian type OK I know!) - if
friends come round and they have leather bags, I have to put them in a
cupboard or Otis pees on them, dunno why but it's funny (not for friend
with v exensive brand new bag though)

Hi Neil, we have leather in both the den and living room. Rexie isn'st
interested in it. He prefers the fabric stool-chairs by the island. But
I have noticed that when he's running from the den to the front window,
he jumps up on the leather chair to launch to the couch, then window. I
noticed a really tiny hole in the back top of the chair, so I threw a
towel up there. That protects the chair back. I just take it down when
we have company.
It is important to keep those back claws trimmed, though.

Thanks Shirley.
That's what I was hoping to hear. We have a couple of 14 year old
sisters and have been very lucky as the have never attacked furniture. They
only damage has been the stair carpet where one lies on her side and strops
the overhang of the step above. Have got a good carpet man that repairs it
as good as new every couple of years (never the same step though, once it
has been repaired).
Cheers Neil.
