Hi all

One of my bratty 2 year old Siamese cats,     Earl, swallowed a
small piece of plastic that he chewed up.  I *always* keep my
appartment spotless, but they can always find *something*.  These
chewed up plastic pieces got lodged in his lower instestine, and the
vet ended up removing half of it just to get all the pieces out.  Poor
little guy... he was in quite a bit of pain and wasn't eating nor
drinking prior to the vet visit.  The vet says that there's a good
chance that he'll suffer from shortened bowel syndrome as a result.
Would any of you who have cats with SBS care to share some stories?
Especially good ones?  I'm afraid for my little guy... :-(

Earl is still in recovery at the vet's...

I had a lady neighbor who had most of hers removed some 45 years ago and wasn't expected to make it.
However she recently passed at the age of 92.  I hope your Siamese lives a good long life as well.

Earl is doing incredibly well!  He got his appetite back yesterday,
and is drinking as well.  Although he thinned quite a bit because of
the surgery and having not eaten, his spirits are up and is quite
active.  He's going to be on a special moist food diet for the next
little while, but the vet is hopeful that he'll be back to eating
"regular" food very soon.
