O'siyo everyone.
I was wondering if anyone else had a cat that loves water. My younger one
(Peeve, she's 8-9) loves water. My other cat (Patches, 13, older, prim and
proper lol) looks at her as if to say, 'don't you know that stuff if wet?'
Anyone else have a cat fascinated with water?

Yes!..... my youngest little sleek black cat Bonnie (she's nine months old)
loves water!...... she is always playing with the water in her drinking bowl
and is fascinated by water coming out of the tap....or out of the hosepipe
outdoors.
Bonnie is very dextrous..... and if I put little floaty toys in the water
she likes to "fish" them out! I have also made a self feeder for her from a
plastic ice cream tub, but cutting a 1 inch square hold in the front and
putting some kitty biscuits in there and putting the lid back on. She likes
to fish out her biscuits from that too. She does the same with the kitty
biscuits in her bowl..... she will fish them out with her paw and then eat
them. My older cat Rosie just watches all this with cynical amusement, but
occasionally will join Bonnie in some kind of water game but not with the
same fervour :o)
Years ago I had a lovely black cat called Sunny (he lived to the grand old
age of 19) who was the same...... always loved water. He would even get in
the bath with the children when they were small!

My orange and white kitty, Texas does that! He likes to play fetch with his
toy mice and he'll dunk them in water. I always thought it was his inner
golden retriever needing to bring the toy to us drooly!! ;-)

I bailed an inmate out of kitty jail a couple of days ago. Big male tabby.
He is one to put his paws up on the edge of the bathtub while I'm taking a
shower and starts bellowing. I'm not sure if he's expressing a desire to
get in the tub or a warning for me to get out. Mixture of sounds. Done
this two mornings in a row. I got him lightly wet all over by hand ...
which didn't phase him a bit. Dripping faucet elicits some interest too.

Well, Peeve takes it a step further in her love of water. We can't leave
the toilet lid up because if we do you will find Peeve sitting IN it!!
Also, when doing dishes, if you leave the kitchen for a minute or two, when
you come back she will be sitting in the sink with bubbles up to her chin!
And when I take a bath, I usually have to shower afterwards because she
loves to jump in and swim!
I think she was a black lab in one of her previous lives lol

My Bengal adores water. He regularly plays under the sprinklers and we've
even found him sitting in the shower when it has been running. We have to
keep the toilet seat down all the time otherwise he'll be in it.
You'll find photos of him here:

I like the cat as a boxed shredder. Lots of cats are shredders, but
most aren't packaged & labeled as such.

Lol! I hadn't even thought of that, but yeah, when he was that age he
shredded quite a bit of our wallpaper.

My gray tabby can spend hours and hours in a bathtub watching a faucet with
a trickle coming out. He also has a thing for the shower. His head often
gets all wet. The rest of him stays dry.
He doesn't like baths.
