I have two eighteen month old cats, one boy and one girl that  have bonded
and are best of friends, like they are always licking and cleaning each
other. They are a beauty to watch.
Soon a good friend of mine will move in to my house, she has a six month old
tabby, I wonder if the introduction of another cat will be a problem. We
intend to keep the tabby in a separate room for a few weeks so my two cats
can get used to a new cat on their turf. All three cats have been de-sexed.
Does any one think there will be a problem ?
Suggestions and tips most welcome.

There will be a re-arrangement of the pecking order for sure. That will
probably include some fighting, so be prepared for it.

Sounds like a good plan.

Be patient and let them figure it out. It can take months for
established cats to accept newcomers. Then again, they can accept him
right away, it depends on teh cats.

My sister in law has several cats gotten at different times as well as two
dogs.  They seem to adapt pretty quickly.

My husband and I both had cats when we married and we did the same thing.
Kept my cat in part of the house and his in the other part for a few weeks.
They get along fine now for the main part.  They bat at each other and
sometimes hiss even after two years but no big blowups.

Let them get used to the others at their own pace and it should go fine.
