Don't really know on this one, except around 20 years or so ago when we had 4 cats, they used to eat raw stewing steak and it never seemed to do them any harm. I don't cook much these days so never tried my present moggy on it, although she loves turkey slices (she'll eat your last sandwich if you're not watching..!) However, bear in mind that raw meat does not have all the necessary nutrients a cat needs. My cat decides for himself if the meat is bad more accurately than I can. I generally offer only cooked meat after I have had my share (the dog gets the stuff that is too big or tough for the cat). begging is not a nuscence in these particular pets. It keeps several of the amino acids from denaturing so the cat can absorb the nutrients better. I forgot the scientist's name, but he did a study on feeding raw vs. cooked. This is why the B.A.R.F. diet has become so popular with breeders. Just do a google search for "Barf diet" (Bones And Raw Food). You can still feed them cooked meat but they are more likely to develop cancer, especially if it is their only intake. hth, wwwolf
