Good grief, why didn't I think of that!  (The softpaws).  Is isn't
ridiculous, it is a great solution!  I haven't tried it because I haven't
had to (YET) and they are fairly new where I live.

I first heard about them when I was looking for something on ebay and a
seller had a photo of her cat on an auction page - - I asked if her cat had
nailpolish on, or if she had painted the colors onto the photo.  At any
rate, I have since found out that an all-cat clinic (which is fairly new,
also) here carries a full range of colors.  I would suppose that you can get
neutral colors, but I would want to have some fun if it were me :)

My newest kitty is pretty good with her claws, but does have a tendency  to
use them on my 14 year old male unnecessarily at times.  The best idea is to
have your vet do it the first time, showing you how.  The claws get clipped
short, and the vinyl caps glued on over the nail.  Any scratching will not
damage your furniture because of the vinyl caps.

As Lola stated, they will eventually shed when the nail sheds (the claw
sheath, as I called it.) Then you put new ones on.  You don't need to do the
back claws unless there is some unusual reason.

When I checked into the cost from the vet clinic here, they were
inexpensive.  The cost was something like 35$ Canadian for 40 caps.  Using
10 caps per use, I would guess you should get close to half a year out of
that.  I don't know what the cost is in the U.S., and use life would depend
on the cat.

The kitty condo is still a nice idea for her to climb on and look out the
window, though :)

I wish I had remembered this earlier........................it may sound
funny, but it really is serious.  My neighbour's mom has several cats
'soft-pawed', and the clinic she works in has the clinic cats done in
different colors for seasons -  - (don't you laugh, I can hear it alreay
*grin) orange and black alternating around Halloween, read and green during
the Christmas season, etc.

Don't forget to let us know what you end up doing and how it works out!

Gotcha Mel. I am definately checking out those "soft paws". I think it is
one terrific idea. Can you imagine the ridicule that the poor devil that
invented those must have gone through when he or she first started talking
about such a thing? Ha,ha. It must have really been funny. Something like
french nails for the kitties.I'm rolling in the isle. Ha,ha.
