OMG, Nick, that has to be one of the worst I have ever heard of. And his
girlfriend VIDEOTAPED it.
I feel so sick, and so badly for that poor cat! A prison sentence is not
enough for that unbelievably sadistic waste of humanity! How could anyone
do such a thing.........I am wiping tears from my face, thinking of all that
poor creature of God suffered.
Misdemeanors! What a joke! If he did such atrocious things to a cat I
wonder whose small children he has focused on!
Even though I do not believe in violence, I am all too willing to put this
man in a room with a bunch of vigilantes and let him take his justice.
How could anyone sodomize that poor cat while it screamed in pain? The list
of injuries is phenomenal? I'd love to have the judge disbarred for that
ludicrously lenient sentence.

Actually, based on the description, she audiotaped it. Remember that
what was described on the tape were *sounds*, not images. Since he
physically abused his girlfriend, her using a video camera would have
been too obvious. She probably taped it on audiocassette surreptitiously.

Or eventually would/will be focusing on.

I'm no fan of capital punishment or punitive torture, but this is one of
those cases where it's terribly difficult for me not to indulge in the
"eye for an eye" philosophy.

The problem might be more with the laws on the books. In many states
animal abuse is always still a misdemeanor, no matter how many times the
individual commits it or how horrific the abuse is. But more and more
states are changing their positions. Here in Illinois, for example,
animal abuse was bumped up to a possible felony charge for a first
offense, depending on the severity of the abuse, and a mandatory felony
for subsequent offenses.
