Hi all,

For those of you who know of me and my two little babies, Ella and Lou,
just thought you'd be pleased to hear that they are back home safe and
sound after their spaying and microchipping.

Apparently Ella was a real sweetheart to all the staff at the vets -
purring and miaowing for attention.  Lou was a bit shyer, but she's like
that with us as well, so it wasn't a big surprise.

But so much for them being woozy!!  They're full of energy - bounding
around the place like nothing happened!  They're not chuffed with their
lampshade collars though - they keep pulling them off faster that we can
get them back on again!

We have just had the first fall of snow this winter, so they're
currently bashing the patio doors trying to catch the snowflakes!  They
steal my heart away, those two!

BC: how is Kiwi doing?  I'm sorry I lost touch, we were away in Scotland
for a funeral for a few days, and your posts had dropped off the end.
Is he an outdoors kitten yet?

Glad to hear that they are both fine and that you coped ok with it!
Don't suppose you went for one of these new bio-thermo chips did you?

So its not only Kiwi that wouldn't give in to the drugs!  Do they keep
banging into everything with their lampshades on? So glad kiwi didn't
have to wear one, he would have trashed it for sure!  What did macavity
think of them?

Had a light covering of snow last night and a few flurries today but its
all vanished now, boring Gloucestershire wish I lived somewhere further
east.  Due some more later in the week, hope we actually get it as I
love snow!!!  Did much settle where you are?  Must have been so sweet
watching them, watching the snow :-)

Sorry to hear you've been to a funeral.
Kiwi is great! Seems to be filling out and getting a little belly!  Has
even discovered how to climb on the top of my kitchen cupboards now,
little sod!  Managed(with the help of my father) to put a chain link
fence all round the hedge in the garden so kiwi is now a garden cat
under supervision, though I'm sure it wont be long til he escapes as he
tried to chase a blackbird the first day he was out and climbed to the
top of the hedge!  He had great fun this morning jumping through what
little snow we had.  It's really cute when hes out 'cos he goes
exploring then comes back to rub on my leg before running off again,
cant work out if hes trying to say thank you for being out or whether he
is just coming back for reassurance, whichever its really cute.  Do you
think you will be letting ella and lou out soon?

Oooh what's them?  As far as I know we just got the bog-standard one.

They were really distressed about the collars at first - and were
managing to get them off as quick as we were putting them back on again.
They're used to them now, but they do occasionally bash into things.
The thing is they're not really able to wash and scratch the way they
normally would, so we're doing scratchy-head for them, which they love!

Well we're not far away!  We're in Wiltshire, but right on the cusp of
Gloucestershire (near Cirencester).  We had a little flurry but none of
it has really stuck.  Macavity isn't impressed with the cold weather (or
the collars, come to think of it) so he's a right grumpy-bottom at the
moment.

Sounds like he's coming along in leaps and bounds!!  (Literally!)

Awww bless!  I bet he loves it outside!  He's probably coming back for
some reassurance - which is a good sign.  He sounds like a really loving
little thing.

>Do you think you will be letting ella and lou out soon?

Hmm.  Well, that was part of the reason for getting them spayed.  I
think it's a bit cold for them at the moment with their shaved bits
(they did it through the flank, so there's a patch probably about 2x3
inches on their back legs that's been shaved).  When it's grown back
I'll start taking them out supervised.  I've carried them outside a
couple of times and shown them the back garden.  Lou seems especially
interested in outside - she runs over to the back door whenever it's
opened and closed (quickly, so they don't escape) and she sits there
sniffing at the air.  Must be fascinating to a cat!  Still very nervous
about letting them out, so I'm going to do it slowly.  They get their
stitches out next thursday, and then my parents are down that weekend
until Wednesday, so I'll see how they are the following weekend, and
possibly dig out the harness if I'm happy that they're ready.  It will
mean that they're almost 7 months then, which is probably a good age -
I'm just concerned that they're still a little bit small (being little
girls).

Och, I'll worry about it when it's time!!

Good to hear that Kiwi is doing so well though - he sounds like such a
little sweetie.  Has the biting and scratching calmed down now? Ella and
Lou certainly don't bite and scratch as much as they used to.

Glad to hear you are all fine!  Don't suppose you opted for those new
bio-thermo chips did you?

So Kiwi wasnt the only one to fight it!  What does Macavity think of the
lampshades?

Bet they looked really cute! :-) Snow hasn't settled hear properly,
really wish it would!  Due some more tonight, bet the cotswolds will get
most of it and not us though :-(

Sorry to hear you've been to a funeral.

Kiwi is now a garden kitty!  We managed to put some chain link fencing
all around the hedge which is keeping him in at the moment,  pretty sure
it wont be long til he works out how to get out though, he can already
get two thirds of the way up an 8ft hedge!  He thinks he owns the
garden, it's really cute when hes out as he keeps bounding back to me
for hugs!!!!  Kiwi is also finally starting to fill out and get a little
round belly!
