Hello everyone,
I will try to make it short, I lost my Beagle on New Year's Eve, lost a long
battle with cancer, brave to the end.
I have two cats, one 11 years old, Figaro, he always afraid of everything,
rain, Birthday's balloons, and about 5 years ago I got another cat, Butter,
a huge cat, the Tony Soprano of cats, bossy, and very jealous and possessive
of me.
Now my problem with Figaro started few months before Barney the Beagle
passed, Figaro forgot he had a box, and accidents occurred.
Since Barney is gone, Figaro has not once used his box, he goes anywhere in
the house, and after that hides, let me tell you that they have their own
boxes, and that Butter has always been the aggressor.
Finally my question, what can cause a cat, to change his habits?
Should I take him to the vet?
Thank you so much in advance.
Kiki.

Do take him to the vet Kiki. That's the always the place to start when
there is an unwanted change in behavior. It's probably stress and anxiety
that have caused him to stop using his box, but he should be examined for
other possible health problems, and also your vet should be able to give you
some suggestions for helping him feel more secure and modifying his
behavior.
