Cats Love Anxiety, Don't They?

I've been living with Isis, my 5 or 6 year old long-haired Tabby, for about
4 years now.

I've been reflecting on what goes on around this house. One of the
conclusions I've come to is that she, and possibly all cats, seem to love
anxiety games. Anxiety is a state of uncertainty and fear. I don't
personally enjoy being anxious about things but Isis appears to occasionally
love a good dose.

For instance, once or twice a day after she's had a bowlfull of food, she'll
stand in the kitchen with her eyes dilated as wide as moons. She stares at
me. I stare at her. I'll begin a slow walk towards her and when I reach a
certain point I'll break into a run, she runs for her life, and I chase her
down a stairway.

Once in a while she plays a game called stalking. She hides behind the
kitchen door and when I walk past WHAMMO! She jumps two feet in the air with
her paws in a grabbing position, does a 180 flip to get back in landing
position, hits the floor, and runs like crazy. This usually scares me pretty
good.

At night when I climb into bed I like to read. After a few minutes Isis will
jump up on the bed and walk around. Sometimes she gets in a very weird mind
mood where she c r e e p s around the bed very slowly. If I make a sudden
move she's goes POP into the air. It can be almost a foot straight up!
BOING!

I've had dogs. They like slobber games like chase the stick or bring home
the dead fish. They love to wrestle.

Well, Happy New Year.
