We have a 10 year old cat who has cancer but is still going strong and
has now living a year on from original diagnosis.
This Xmas she has started sneezing every 4-5 hours and coughs once a
day. Her nose is dry and she still has an appetite and her fur is still
shiny and good looking. Her breathing is not laboured or noisy either.
We cannot take her to the vet because she goes nuts and we don't think
that will be good for her.
Has she got cat flu? Has any one got any idea? I'm a bit worried to say
the least.

If you have *any* doubts at all, take her to the vet, *now* - she may well
not like it but she'll like being seriously ill a lot less. Does your vet
make house calls..?

She could be in early stages I suppose, then again, it could a furrball as
well.Give her some Hills Science Diet Hairball biscuits and some malt
hairball product available to buy at any pet shop.
Is she vaccinated against cat flue? If the symptoms persist and she develops
runny eyes, lethargy and loses appetite, she may have a cat flue. Pls bear
in mind that cat flue is a serious disease in cats and can easily kill them.
She would need antibiotics from the vet to prevent secondary infections.
Please search the google for more detailed info on cat flue, but if she's
got it, she'll HAVE to see the vet.
Probably for now the only thing you can do is build her body resistance by
feeding her best food as much as she wants, and if you can find them, get
some cat vitamins in paste form from pet shop again, so if she gets flue
,she has hopefully enough strength to fight it off. Don;to let her out on
this cold, and let her settle peacefully at home.
Good luck

Suggestion only: check the humidity in your home -- is it too dry?MLB
