Is it possible to get a Cat to stop eating a plant?? Do they have the
inteligence to be trained not to go with instinct and eat a house plant?? I
am at the end of my rope with my cat eating plants, which eventually kills
them (the plant), then puking the plant up on the carpet.
I have tried the store spray to keep her away. It has no effect. I have
tried to firmly say no with her right next to the plant. I have even tried
to scold her by rubbing her face in the plant soil . I just dont think that
cats have the ability to connect the offending action with the punishment
and then override their instinctive urges.
Can I try to coat the plant with something to make it taste gross??
Help me out here

Good luck & I hope you get a positive answer.
I have had many parlour palms which I love, but they end up chewing them no
matter where I put the plants.
They don't touch other plants so I suppose the answer is, is to get plants
that they don't like to eat... trouble is I LOVE parlour palms.
BTW I've tried everything & nothing works, they just keep on munching & BTW
they don't get sick eating these either!
It's no use at all punishing an animal after the event... you must catch
them whilst in the act, & don't rub her face in the soil she just won't have
any idea what you are about, plus it's a bit cruel as she has no idea why
you are doing this.
It's better to spray her with water but only when she is actually in the act
of chewing!
Once again good luck

Is she an inside only cat? Cats crave greens, feed her grass or try
catnip. Another tip is to put foil or something maybe sticky next to
the pot where she might step.
Somebody should invent a cat sensor that would produce a horrible tone
to scare them away.
Another idea is to put something stinky by the pot, maybe that will
repel her.
Most likely your just going to have to give up and just grow cactus.
I'm lucky Amber will only eat the dead leaves off my plants.
