Our two male kittens got spayed a week ago. Now one started having dry
heaves (for lack of a better term).

Any relationship or just a bowel obstruction?

Thanks.

You spay females and neuter/castrate males.

Its possible that they picked up a little cold while at the vet,

Hi Ray,

If the kitten is still eating and peeing and pooping fine, it could be
something minor (when my cats have had hairballs, they "dry heave" for a
couple days and then the hairball comes up).  However, if he isn't able to
eat/drink normally, he may become dehydrated quickly, and a trip to the vet
is in order.

A cat who isn't eating/drinking can dehydrate quickly and there can be long
term consequences.  He may have a bowel obstruction as you suggest, which
can be deadly.  Or, he may have picked up some illness that didn't show up
until now.  Why not just call the vet and explain what he is doing, and if
he is or isn't eating, and see what they say.

Good luck!

Thanks.

A friend of mine also had her 2 male kittens fixed & she told me that
every time of the male kittens drinks water he coughs but as far as
eating food he's ok.Her other male kitten seems fine. She's suppose to
call the place where it was done & find out what's what. If you want to
find out I'll let you know
