Cat fleas

Hi,

I think one of my cats have fleas.  I guess if one has fleas the other
must have too.  I found some tiny black speck in the fur.  It is easy to see
because my cats are white.  Now I wonder what shall I do.  I will call the
vet tomorrow and I guess she will treat my cats with pills but what about my
place?   How can I get rid of those?  Will they go after me when the cats
are treated?

My cats only go out in the morning for about 40 minutes.  Will I have
to keep them indoor so that they won't get fleas anymore or buying them a
fleas collar be enough?  Would a fleas collar solve the problem right now?
My cats don't have any ithching.  They seem very healthy but those tiny
black specks seem to me to be fleas.

        Thanks,

                      Richard

Richard, get some Frontline, Advantage, or Revolution from your vet.
This gets applied to the skin behind the neck.  Any fleas will die
within 24 hours.  DON'T get any flea products at the super market (for
example Hartz).  They can make your cat ill or worse.  Flea collars
don't work and can cause irritation to the skin around the neck.  They
can be put in your vacuum cleaner bag to kill any fleas that are
vacuumed up.  The treatment from your vet should be effective for 4 to 6
weeks.

Use Advantage or Revolution.
