I have two kittens that I bought together when they were six weeks old from
the pet shop at the local mall. One is a long haired tortoise shell the other
a long haired white ginger, they both have been desexed and are still the
best of friends, I am told that they have bonded. My problem is that I want
my old girlfriend Marie to move back in to the house we once shared with our
fifteen year old cat, another tortoise shell called Patches. She feels that
the two kittens will gang up on patches or that she will simply not adjust
to the new cats living there in her "old" house. I have suggested that
Patches be introduced slowly to the new cats, that we could keep her in the
bedroom till she gets used to being back in the house with the kittens and
that we could put a separate cat flap also in the bedroom to give her some
freedom when she is ready to venture out. Marie seems to think that the
kittens will scare patches off and that she will lose the old cat. I feel
that cats will all be fine as long as they are given plenty of time to
assimilate.
I would be interested in any opinions or suggestions to this problem.

Dear Nited,
I think you are on the right track, just let the newcomer and the kittens get
used to each other step by step.
But remember the cat that is first in house will see any new one as a threat
because the newone will come
on her territory,and thats hers.
Good luck Fran,
