Hi everyone

PLS, pls does anyone have any experience of or information regarding
Unstable Feline Diabetes??

We have a much loved cat whose diabetes is unstable despite insulin  and we
together with our vet  are desperately trying to find a way/treatment to
stahilise the diabetes.

Thank you very much for any info you can give.

A very worried cat owner

my own cat had insulin resistance.. meaning no matter what level of insulin
we gave her, her bg would be in the 4-500 range.  We tried diabetic food
(Purina DM which is high protein.. basically atkins for kitties) and we
tried PZI.. but what stabilized her was getting her on herbs.  one of the
doctors at her clinic is an acupuncturist herbalist.

Thanks Connie for yr reply.  Our cat's bg ranges from hypo to off the scale
high with different levels of insulin.  Pls can you tell us more abt the
herbs. Unfortunately our vets here do not have acupuncturist herbalist.

We're now trying human insulin to see if that stabilises the diabetes.

Thanks again

I couldn't begin to spell it, as I have had it compounded and don't have the
bottle with me.  there are several different formulas though.  You might
want to do a web search on holistic vets and see if you can find one in your
area to consult with.

There is a wonderful group that was very helpful to me when my parents' dog
was diagnosed; they have a feline board
