Hi all,
I have two cats (female), both are sisters. They are about 1 year
and a half and the only thing I have to say they're terrible with
is hair. Oh god... they lose so much hair. Even when you pet
them, they seem to leave the air full of air. :( I don't know
what to do, I give them whiskas to eat and don't know what to do.
I never did anything special about it but I'm really getting mad
about it and I need to do something. Should I give them bath?
Some tips pleeeeeeease... :)
Cheers,

If you have any concerns, see your vet, that's what they're there for. I
would rather feel a fool and waste my time (and money..!) than do nothing
and miss a potential problem.
Are they otherwise well and happy..?

The first thing to do is have the cats seen by a vet. Some hair
shedding is normal, an excessive amount could indicate an
underlying medical condition. Also cats will shed when they
are stressed.

tried brushing them? might take a few days in a row to get all the loose
hair out, but then only once every few days should be fine. A flea-comb
will let you get quite a bit.

cats do loose a lot of hair normally. if this is something excessive, it
could be food or flea allergies, or they are pulling it out cause they are
bored. see a vet!

We clip our Chinchilla Persian cats (who, as it is are also sisters but from
two seperate litters) twice per year.. mid spring to help shed their winter
coat and mid autumn for their summer coat, perhaps if you have long haired
cats you might consider this also.
Having said the above, I agree with everyone elses recommendations as well..
if you think they might have an alergy or an infestation then take them to a
vet, the sooner the better.
Good luck.
