Hi all,
I have a female cat (Jodie) who is 2 years old now. We got her spayed
when she was about 8 months old.
I have another spayed female cat (5 yrs old) and a neutered male cat
(5 yrs old). They have all been friendly / tolerant to each other.

A couple of days back, Jodie has started making some weird noises
(mating call??). Since then my male cat has been attacking her. Each
time she shouts, he growls and attacks her. I have now put Jodie in a
different room, separated her from the other two.

couple of questions:
1. Why is a spayed cat behaving this way when my other spayed cat
never had a similar problem?
2. What can I do to stop her shouting - my neighbours are not gonna be
happy about this constant noise.

thanks

I would take her back to the vet that spayed her, he/she could have
mised an ovary when she was spayed. I know a vet that did this more than
once. The cat can't have kittens, but still comes in heat.

Good Luck!!

Aimee,

I called up my vet (I live in India) after reading your post and my
vet said pretty much the same thing. but he says he can't operate on
her again, since the tubes are very small and he won't be able to find
it once the cat has been spayed. Could not make much sense of what he
said, but I guess my regular vet does not want to take another shot at
it.
I'll try and call up another vet in the area. Thank you for the
information.
I suppose she will be 'ok' and not come in heat once this is done?

regards
