hi,
I have a 11 year old female, and since there were not vets in my area
when I got her 11 years ago, I didn't get her spayed.
She has been in heat on and off for a while now. We moved to a city a
year back and I contacted a vet about getting her spayed. The vet said
it was not necessary since she is old and will stop coming in heat
soon.
It has been a year since I saw that vet, but she still is the same.
she comes in heat every so often. Is there a age limit by when cats
stop coming in heat?
Is there a problem if a vet spays her at this age?
thanks

Female cats will have heats for as long as they are not neutered. The
frequency may lessen, but the heats will still be there. Older cats may
be more sensitive to anesthesia, but a good vet will take his/her
precautions in this case.
