answer is yes. but a cats system is not the natural enviroment
of heartworms, dogs are. heart worms cannot thrive in a cat
(the enviroment is somewhat hostile) so they never reach a
fatal level like in a dog and don't reproduce very well and
even frequently spontaniously die out and dissapear(they never
do this in a dog). in short cats can but rairly get heartworms
but they dont cause a severe problem(as in dogs) and can
usually be ignored. I have 8 cats currently (all strays) and
none of them have heartworms(vet checked)4 dogs get
ivomec 0.006ml/kg of body weight per day. kills all
worms,feas,ticks,mites and sarcoptic mange.
