I have a cat just about 1 year old and she always hisses at my dog. But
lately if she is sitting with me and the dog comes by she will hiss at me
for petting her and then put her teeth around me like she wants to bite me.
She never chomps down at all but I want her to know that this is not allowed
but it would be my understanding that if I punish her for growling that it
would just piss her off more. any suggestions?

I think your cat is jealous of your dog. Try to give your cat more
special attention. Her "biting" could be a sign to show you that she
wants attention also - could you pet them both at the same time?

Cats are supposed to hat dogs, it is part of nature. Anyway, if you want
them to get along, put there beds next to each other.

I had a 70 farm dog who the farm cats would drive crazy, the dog would chase
the cats all over the yard and up the t rees, when the dog got all the cats
up the trees, (a dozen or more most of the time) she would go over to her
spot and lie down for a rest. within minutes the cats would come down, go
over to her and lay on top to stay warm. drove the dog nuts
