When my cat is outside, and I call her, she shows up.

When she is inside the house, perhaps hidden in a cupboard, she
usually ignores me calling her.

Today, I believed her to be outside, called her name.  No response.  I
was terrified for five hours, believing her to be dead or in big
trouble, because she is very reliable about coming when she is called
from outside.

I wish I could persuade her to answer her name whether inside or
outside, or attach some kind of location device to her so I could find
her.

I have three cats  and we use the " pounce " cat treats....they come in a
small cylinder that we shake........We give them the treats immediately when
they come inside.....this usually works although the one female doesn't like
the treats and we have to try to grab her when we can. Try the food.....also
we have a laser pointer that the cats love to chase at night....they usually
follow the dot right into the house...easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hope this helps................

I have, for the last 25-30 years of having cats, always sung the Meow Mix
song to them when I feed them.

It seems silly but it is in their language, it sounds fun and festive, and
whenever a cat disappears, whether inside the house, or sneaking out or
running off unattended, I just sing the song and they come bounding up to
me. Of course I reward them almost every time (unless its a last ditch
effort to get them back in the house before we have to run off somewhere and
they've just escaped through the garage door as we are departing).

Now when they hear the commercial they dash hell bent for fur to the
kitchen and the parrot sings it too.  It makes for a crazy household but
gets the little darlings in when we need them or flushes them out of hiding
within the house when we need to confirm their presence and safety.

Also very amusing and cheap entertainment for visitors... ;-)

Hi inboxie

I don't know of the Meow Mix Song.

Is this available on the web anywhere as a download?

My cats like watching the Animal Channel or at least the bird and
flying insect scenes. Some music in their language might be
interesting.

I'll put it in as a search item on WinMX and see if it appears .....
