My wife found a cat in a car garage when she was at a conference and this
cat came up to her....it was very friendly ...but dirty.....she fed it at
lunch time...later that evening we returned to the garage and brought the
cat home.......( we have 3 cats) kept it in the spare bathroom with food and
litter etc...we advantaged it...lots of fleas dropping off...the next day
she brought it to the vet and had them them check the cat for diseases and
any problems it may have had.....no problems other than about 4 pounds
underweight... wasn't cheap for all of the vaccines etc.....
Anyway to make a long story short...her friends daughters cat ran away and
they ended up adopting this cat. The cat purrs all of the time and sleeps
with her on the bed......it was nice to see that this poor creature went
from lousy
existence to a lovable home. Nothing is sweeter than a purring cat.

Thanks for that story, it's always good to hear when a cat finds a good
home, it's better than the trolling we usually get on here.

Ah, purring - the sound cats make best :-)

Must be in the air! I lost my 3 palls in a fire, they passed, through smoke
inhalation. The fire men had them on apparatus but it was to late.

For 4 months I grieved, then my flat rebuild was completed
I moved into an empty flat and grieved some more, everything I had ever
owned was gone. I lived here 2 months and one day, a little stray tom came
and sat on my door step.
He was there when I got home one evening.
I said hello and gave him a stroke.
I went out for tea, and he was still sat there.
2 hours later when I came back, you got it.
I had spoken earlier at meal time, to the lady who helps my life progress,
and dinner most nights, about my visitor.
She said it sounds like your new cat has found you.
Or even,,, 6 month is about right for reincarnation.
Maybe one has found there way home! ( These hippies ladies? Sounds mad!)
I opened my door and said come on then and in he strolled.
I gave him some water and went to the local shop for food and a litter try
and litter. The next day I went to the news agent and local cattery/shop,
and put an add in, for a cat found. I didn't want to steal someone's lost
pet!
After 2 weeks no one had called so I made an appointment at the vet. He was
healthy enough and fatter than he had been.
(Mossy the stray had put weight on too)
The vet scanned him for a chip, (must admit I was quite glad when he didn't
find one!) I booked him for neutering and flea drops. Well he is called,
even chipped as Mossy and still lives here.

I go to the local cattery/rescue to buy Mossy food and treats. When I was
there last Wednesday there was a cage with 2 kittens. A lovely tabby and a
white base / multicoloured.
I fell for them straight away, I had no thought of getting another cat when
I left home,, but Kittens!
Then I saw in the corner another cage (big cages 3 foot square not cramped)
A Tortoiseshell Queen, she looked every bit as royal as a Queen should be. I
asked about her. They tell me, had her in six weeks, a young stray from the
estate, she is a bit unfriendly, very competitive for food. I don't know
what to do with her. (This is a paying cattery that takes in strays if they
have any space) That was it really, I asked for a stroke, and up jumped a
purry little Queen, I asked her name and was told they had named here Tania.

What! I will have to take her if only to rename to poor kitty! So now I have
2 cats. She got out of the carrier and her and Mossy hit it off right away,
seem palls already, Tilly is still in house until I take her to the vet for
the "op." I will leave it a week or 2 as she is still settling in (and
feeding up) No competing for food here!!!
and I don't want to have her in the vets cage, so soon after being in the
cattery cage!

She seems happy to occasionally look in my direction as I make a fool of
myself saying, Tilly, Tilly, in a variant of pitches over and over, while I
give her cat nip treats.
So I suppose she even answers to her name???
Wonder when Mr 3 will show his face?

I have a shared park like yard, the size of a football field with trees, so
Tilly/Mossy will like that. If you see a stray please give them a chance.
Tilly was supposed to be a bit narky but now she has settled, she seems to
appreciate her new home. All the best
