I guess from a picture I would pick the Petmate as it doesnt have the spout
of water but more a water slide. Seems like that wold be better to keep
water from getting spashing out to much.
What variations are there on the Petmate? I see the Drinkwell yo can get
various water sizes. the Petmate looks kinds of small for water resevoir.
Any thoughts?

There are two sizes, the link I posted is for the bigger one. It holds a
lot of water, I only have to refill it about once a week.

I bought the Petmate and disliked it. Very noisy motor. I then bought the
Drinkwell with the extra reservoir. I'm very satisfied with the unit. Quiet
motor. Much better design in all respects as far as I'm concerned. Well
worth the money.

That's odd, ours is very quiet. The only time it makes noise is when you
need to add more water, which is a nice reminder.

My boys *hated* the Petmate. For them, at least half the fun
is drinking straight from the waterfall. :)

*laugh* Yes, 'the boys' refers to my two Bengal cats. Why is
that sad?

I could tell you owned a bengal even before I saw your sig line. Our bengal
is just the same. Avoids the dish like anything and prefers to drink
straight from the tap. I have to make sure I have at least some water in
the bath all the time. The drinkwell looks great. Wonder whether I can get
one over here.
