Well as always the bad news first.  Due to political BS in Orlando Florida
the last no kill private rescue center in orange county is being forced out
or faces fines of 250 a day.  She has a temp shelter in  nearby Seminole
county but is looking for a permanent place.    If everyone could go to her
site and vote for ABC Home Make over to come in and help I would be greatly
appreciate http://www.petrescuebyjudy.com/.  This woman is one of my heroes.
Every Hurricane Katrina pet victim that they had no room for elsewhere she
made room for them.

The good news is my mom mad a rescue this morning  she saved a Pekinese dog
that had gotten out   she tracked down the owner and returned the four leg.
the dog had gotten out when the ambulance came to take her husband to the
hospital for a heart attack.  She had cried all night and prayed.  She was
in tears when mom brought the dog back  which was about 3 blocks away

At least score one for the good guys

Nice rescue story Matthew!  Too bad about the closing of the last no-kill
shelter, that sucks.

Big time  considering the other shelter which is just outside orange county
can only hold 350  and they have 1600  and kitten season is around the
corner

And the voters/citizens in Orlando are allowing this why?

Let your elected officials know you don't approve and
that you vote.

Is the shelter being evicted so they can build another over priced
condo that won't sell in this troubled real estate market?

Maybe the better route would be to buy a house/business property/
etc.  convert it to a shelter.

Or buy a farm, complete with barn. Then spay or neuter the stray cats, and
let them live there unless and until someone wants one for a
pet.....Otherwise, they could live comfortable lives there until they die of
old age. I wonder why there would be a state law against that?

Not a state law  stupid local Politicians listening to the old farts who
have nothing better to do than complain and they don't want to lose voters

So let the local elected officials know that the old farts don't speak
for all voters.

Let your voices be heard.

Get out and vote.

Campaign for canidates that you support.

Let me reword my earlier:

Why would anyone complain about that?

Those geezers must have more important things to do than bitch about someone
wanting to help a bunch of stray cats.....Or course, the mere fact that they
have retired to Florida after spending their lives working in New York tells
us something about their state of mental health.....:^)

There is an old saying: our system of governemnt in the US of A
doesn't work....you have to work it.

Now go and prove that Florida has more animal lovers than animal
haters.

Well, I couldn't "prove" it.....At least not mathematically, but a good
argument is the average age of the residents......Older people are generally
more likely to be kind to animals. - As death approaches, our tolerance for
other living creatures grows........
