hello,
my sweet cat that i've watch be born and have had for 16 years has
cancer that has spread throughout her body.  i have her on some meds
to make her commfortable but it seems like its not helping much
anymore and i may have to put her down.  it will just break me apart
but i dont want her to suffer.  before i do that though, can anyone
recommend anything that might revive her and give her some more time?
any help is greatly appreciated.
sincerely,
greiving cat lover

I have been in your situation four times (1981, 1994, 2001, and 2006).
It is very hard and doesn't get easier with experience.  If your old
friend isn't eating or her behavior has changed (perhaps she hides now),
or if she is in pain, then you must do the right thing.  Delaying the
inevitable only serves to make you both suffer more.

I am sorry that this is happening to you.  You had 16 years together.
I can't be absolutely certain, but I choose to believe we will get
back together with our furry friends.  Love goes on.

i have had to put another one of my cats down years ago and i know how
it hurts and yes, this is no easier.  i'll know when its time but
right now she still has some life left in her.  i won't let her suffer
though.  thanks for your thoughts roby.
