Hello at Alt Cats,
I have a Male Siamese cat almost 13 years old he has been discharging
a little matter like liquid or puss from his right eye. for the past 3
or four weeks. We took him to a vet who told us that our cat had moved
it's third eyelid partially across the pupil of his eye. he could find
no damage to the eye and prescribed Prednisolone  eye drops .They do
not seem to be helping and we now are giving an antibiotic in the form
oxytetracycline . dosage is 100mg twice a day.
He has been on the eye drops for almost a week and on the antibiotic a
few days.
The cat show no sign of discomfort.
I would greatly appreciated any help you may give me on this problem.

could be allergy, a block duct  could be un upper respiratory infection
give the antibiotics a chance to work   if there is not change at the end
get a second opinion

My cat has a different eye problem; but my vet recommended a vet that
specializes only in eyes. I'm really glad I did.

If 'standard' treatments don't work, I would recommend finding a vet eye
specialist.

Eye infections can quickly become serious; leading to really big
problems, or even loss of the eye :-(

At the very least, I would recommend taking a CLOSE look at the eye
EVERY day, in good light, to look for changes, just in case.

Best of luck.
