That's a bit blinkered... I've known some butt ugly cats...

None as bad as these, though:

It's only ugly to those that look at it with ugly eyes and hearts.

I think you'll find it's only ugly to those with _working_ eyes and brains.

Like people, the beauty in cats is in their personalities, not their outward
appearance. Many years ago I worked with a guy who was as ugly as sin.....He
looked all wizened up, like a Hottentot, or a Kalahari bushman. but his
personality was so big that when he wasn't in my direct view, he was tall
and beautiful in my mind's eye. After several months of working somewhere
else, he pulled up in my driveway and got out of his car and came up to my
door, and I didn't even recognize him because he was so ugly....."I wonder
who that ugly little guy is?" I said to myself. then, I realized it was Sam,
My friend, whom I hadn't seen for several months, and I understood how much
somebody's personality affects your perception of how they look. As the
months had ticked by, Sam had become bigger, and more good looking to me
because of his outstanding personality. It had replaced his looks as the
"important" thing about him. He taught me that one should never make
judgments about someone else without getting to know them first. Looks alone
are never enough to tell you what someone else, even a cat, is like.

So was he ugly, or not?

You lot are hilarious- getting upset when someone calls an ugly cat "ugly".

one of the cats that aren't factory seconds.

Either you're a troll or you aren't a true cat lover.

*All* cats are beautiful in their own way. Spend time with them, get to
know them, then you wouldn't make statements like that.

For example, I was never particularly attracted to Persian cats. But since
I got to know the ones owned by a friend of mine, I've come to see them as
just as beautiful in their own way as any other cat. I'm still not sure I
would ever have one myself, but if one came my way and was in need, I
can't think of a single reason I wouldn't take them in.

That sort of logic would suggest my drinking buddies are in some way
"beautiful". What bollocks. Wonderful personalities, funny, courteous,
generous. But even they would fall about laughing if someone told them that
makes them "beautiful".

It's got nothing to do with logic. And I presume your drinking buddies
aren't cats.

There is no relationship, IMO, between price and quality when it comes to
cats. Of my 5 cats, my favorite is the one I picked up for free in a Burger
King parking lot, where someone had abandoned him for some unknown reason.
When I exited the building right at closing time, he stood on his hind legs,
put one paw on my knee to steady himself, and pawed at the bag of burgers
and said, "Can I have some of your burgers, Dad?" I picked him up, tossed
him in the back seat of my car, and drove him home. He has proved to be the
"best" cat I have ever owned, both in intelligence and personality. He looks
pretty good too, with his all black, shiny coat. I always know what he is
saying to me, and he still, after three years now, tells me every day how
happy he is to be living here with Frances and myself.......He reaches out
and touches me whenever I walk by his favorite stand. And, when I am putting
my socks on in the morning, he stands behind me on the bed on his hind legs,
puts his front paws on my shoulders, and gives me a hug, and kisses the nape
of my neck, and says, "Thanks, Dad."

Sounds like your little King is a wonderful cat. Bless his little heart...
And yours.
