Hi... we have a 2 yr old male orange tabby ..he's nutered . We got him from
an animal shelter at aproximately 5-8 weeks old.. he has been a great
puss...however he has these periods of rage where his tail fluffs right out
and attacks my wife...he has left scars on my wifes leg where he literally
turns from jeckyl to hyde....tonight I saw it when I came into the house
after work.....his tail went totally fluffy and eyes very big and was
totally razor back and about to take a chunk out of me if I went near
him...... shortly after he was freaked out...he settled down...I do love
this cat to bits...and so does my wife...this is the second unprevoked
attack on my wife... We live in a 2600 sq ft home and he has the entire
roaming of it so he is not being "cooped up"..we've had him for almost 2
years...lately I am distancing myself mentally from him cause if he takes
another unprevoked attack at my wife again I'm going to have to shoot
him...thoughts??  I don't want to shoot him....

Ok first lets start with this  talking out your a@@  about hurting an animal
makes me think troll or complete dumb a@@ .
Even if it is the heat of the moment keep stupid idiotic comments like that
to yourself. Specially when you hide your email address and have never
posted here before.  We don't know you so we have to take what you say
literally but I always give the benefit of doubt till I am proved wrong

Second take your cat to a vet ASAP there is a major medical signs in what
you described.  It could be hyperthyroidism causing the furball to see
things and take out is fear or anger on the nearest object.  One of my cats
just got diagnosed with it  he freaked out and took chunks out of me. I
never once thought about hurting him just about getting him to an animal
hospital to find out what was wrong

It could also be there is another animal or predator coming to close to
your cats territory and the furball is lashing out his anger or fear on
something he loves.

Some of you people may disagree with me and you may be right.  This
MAY be a legit post but I have been reading these groups long where I
think I can kind of read between the line and recognize some of the
key words and phrase of a troll post and to me this original post has
all of them!!

That's bullshit!  Your posting history says you're a gun advocate who
opposes any form of gun control.  The truth be told you've been dying to
shoot this cat and the cat is picking up on your vibes.  Try to be a decent
human being for once and don't kill the poor animal, take it to a no-kill
shelter.  BTW I think you're lying about your RV having 2600 sq. ft, they
don't come that large.

If Jimi is hearing voices in his head and he feels shooting his cat is
inevitable
he should give it to someone else, no?

Yes I wrote that a long time ago...WTF does this have to do with my cat
problem?  ...yeah...I meantioned that I was going to shoot him if he takes
another unprevoked attack at my wife...lets say this then if firearms offend
you...if he takes another run at my wife I'm going to choke the little prick
with my bare hands!
So...putting guns aside as this is a CAT News Group...can anybody offer
any CONSTRUCTIVE comments to this problem that this cat is having...thank
you...Jim

Are you sure he's not playing? Our B-K likes to hide behind a door and
attack my wife when she walks by. But she is just playing with him, and he
plays rough.......

If he's not playing, then he's got some mental problem, and should be taken
to a vet and checked out......Maybe he's having seizures or something.  In
any case, I wouldn't shoot him. The vet can put a cat to sleep for a few
dollars......

Look man if you are going to shoot him then do it.  What is there to
discuss and what is the point.  I wager you were never in the armed
services or the mob ?
