The thing was soliciting physical attention... nudging my hand
with it's head every time I stopped stroking it.
After awhile, it started licking my forearm.
Within a couple of seconds, it took a light bite of it....
seemingly one of those "love bites" that are quite gentle.
Then, suddenly, it started *really* chewing on it.
Seven puncture wounds total.
It wasn't the typical aggro attack, the thing just seemed tb
starting to eat my forearm. It didn't seem to fit the pattern
of over stimulation - where you pet it too much and it suddenly
gets a little crazy - either.
Has anybody else seen behavior like this? Or was I just lucky?

Is this cat spayed/ neutered?
If the behavior was combined with all four paws engaged, that could be
sexual behavior. (Though some cats who are fixed still display sexual
behavior.)
If there was no ill-intent or psychotic look in their eye, I wouldn't worry
too much about a repeat.
Be sure to holler when they bite, they need to be told how tender human skin
is, as they will play pretty rough with one another.
