I have two cats and one is hungry all the time and worrying for food. They both eat the same amount of food and the bigger one has a belly on him, but the younger one is always hungry. Is he just greedy or > could there be another cause? I think you need to see a vet, as I said in my earlier message. However, you did ask about possible causes. One of the most obvious possibilities is worms or other parasites. When you go to the vet, be sure to take a fecal sample with you -- as "fresh" as possible (put it in a clean plastic bag, the type used for food storage).
