Fly them on the quickest, most direct flights so their time of stress is as
brief as possible.

Yes definitely.  Also, you will want to request that they not be put
right next to dogs (if any) traveling on the same flight - unless
they're used to and comfortable being around canines.

Have you called the airlines? Depending on the time of year the airline will
not transport animals due to the heat on the tar mack. They can not garantee
the time the animal will left in the extreme heat.I currently reside in the
bahanas. I thought we were returning to the states last month and ran into
the problem of transport. I called every airline, ship...ect. All said no.

My only options were charting a flight. Luckly due to my boyfriends
occupation I befriended another animal lover who offered her services to send
me and my four cats to the states.

Yikes, some airlines will allow kitties in cabin but I hadn't thot about
the heat issue.

Aw, nice :)

There is a weight requirement for carrying them in the caibin. It changes
based on the specific airline. I hope it goes better for you than it did for
me initially. I know that you will find a way. Let me know what you find out.
I will be in the same situation in about 7 months.

Why are you moving to Caicos?

My cats are small except for the big, fat 20 pounder! Leaving in Fall,
will let you know.
