Hello!!!

I have a cat whose name is Tom. He has been recently diagnosed with
diabetes. It is really sad news for me and my family, cause we treat
him like a family member and love him so much.

I researched many websites so far to look for cure and etc, but so far
liked only one website, which is www.catdiabetes.net. Just wanted to
share it with everyone whose cats are sick with diabetes as well.
As well as just want to ask if anyone can advice anything else about
this horrible sickness that making my cat to suffer.:((

Thank you so much.

What is the big deal?  So you have to start doing blood draws to check the
sugar level and give him insulin shots once or twice a day.  It isn't that
difficult.  Your cat could live several more years based on how well you
learn to take care of him.

Woah, that's a bit harsh. The OP didn't mention putting the cat down
because he has diabetes he was just looking for a bit of support.

Diabetes is a big deal - it is a chronic, progressive disease
affecting every body system and requires careful management and
constant vigilance. Yes, the cat can still have a good quality of life
but anyone who's furry friend is diabetic is right to feel a bit
daunted by the situation.

Tom's parent, I'm afraid I can't offer any practical advice as I've
never had a cat with diabetes but I feel for you and Tom and hope you
can get the advice and support you need.

Best wishes
Kate and Angus

I got the impression from the OP they weren't considering learning to give
Tom his shots and are about to put him down.  Of course diabetes is a
serious disease, but as I said a cat can live for many years after getting
it if treated properly like we did with our old Loki boy.
