Sorry about your loss.  Never let your next cat go outside, and you'll not
repeat this heartache.  While you'll never be able to replace Bootsie, a new
kitten or cat can go a long way toward easing the pain.

Could still be alive but not out their but in someone elses home who desided
to not let thier new cat wonder.

you know somehow i just can't belive that.  bootsie was a tom cat that
i had for 10 years'\. he was a stray of about 1 to 2 years old when he
showed up in the ally behind my apt ( i live in a run down section of
and old new england industrial town) he was very hungry. i live on the
3rd floor. i took him upstairs and fed him. i already had a cat flap
on the apt door and the downstairs back door . bootsie could come and
go as he pleased he was not altered or neutered in any way he came to
me intact and he stayed that way . after the 1st day i had him he came
home 2 times every day 6am  6pm he stayed  just long enough to eat
mostly he wanted to be outside  sometimes if he had been in a bad
fight he would stay inside for a few day,s to heal and recuperate then
right back out.  i know for a fact he fathered more than 1 litter  he
would not let any body near him he avoided children like the plague
thats why i don,t think he ended up in another home  one time bootsie
got hit buy a car just clipped but bad enough he had to go to the vet.
the vet had to remove some teeth said he had a bad eardrum said he may
have broken bones in his face said he would have to be fed manuly by
me and  he could not go out  when i got him home the 1st thing he
wanted was food he had a huge appatite he did not need my help to eat
i put a board over the cat flap after a couple of days  he would get
down infront of the cat flap grab the board with all 4 paws and pull
and howl for about and hour he did this 3 or 4 times a day i finelly
let him back out  he  came in and out for 10 years but 1 day he just
did'nt come home  it's been over 2 years  i even have a new cat
bandito he,s neutered and has all his shots he has access to the cat
flap but tends to say inside and sleep 16 or so hours a day  he just
go,s out a couple a times a day for and hour or so hes a good cat
never uses the cat box always goes outside but personalty and
character wise he is just not the cat bootsie was but ilve him
