One would think that a stray cat must be robust. But out of six cats I had
three strays, and they were all a case for the vet.

Not always robust, but they are a hardy lot for sure. A cat who has been on
its own has been exposed to all kinds of disease, has likely had previous
unknown injuries, and has suffered from bad nutrition. With mine, though, only
one could not be brought back to health. The rest bounced back marvelously and
lived relatively healthy lives.

Out of the 9 former stray cats in my family, only two have a medical history
through no fault of their own. My sister's cat has upper respiratory
problems, and my little cat has ideopathic epilepsy.
