I'm old as the hills and not website savvy so can someone tell
me the easiest way to get some pictures out where you can
see the sweet little tiny cat that's looking for sanctuary at my
house.

Last night at midnight when I let the cats in I heard growling
so went out to see what the problem was and this tiny little
female cat was being growled at so I brought her in and looked
her over. She's tiny but probably almost full grown. I think her
mother is a tiny little black cat that doesn't stay around long
enough for me to give her to someone.  I fed this new cat a little
then put her back out but now she's here to stay. Now I have
four cats that follow me everywhere. The other cats aren't taking
it very well but they're getting better. They are three old neutered
females.

I'm older than dirt and the easiest way to do it get a system
like Kodak easyshare where the software will unload the pictures
from the camera and post them on Kodak's site.   That way
friends can view them, you can order prints, and
stuff like mouse pads with your cat's photo.

You can also get a USB card reader that will allow you to
copy photos from the memory card (SD, CF) to your desktop and
other places like Walgreens. Wal-mart, and other stores
where friends can view them.

Also check with your ISP.  They may give you xxxx mb for a web
pages with your ISP service (typically 10 meg.)

I'm checking out the Kodak easyshare site and see how that goes.

My old ISP did that but since they sold out to this bunch that's
just a memory.

You should ask your provider the address of your ftp site. It shoul
dbe something like:

ftp.myprovider.com/~myname

Then, you need an ftp client, an ftp software, if you wish. ws_ftp is
such a software, for exemple. The home version does not cost anything,
I believe. If not there are other free ftp clients. Your provider
might have some to downlaod from his site.

When the client is installed, you will need to login to your site with
your password. You'll then see 2 windows in your client, one with the
files on your computer, the other, empty, with the files on your site.
You then click the files and transfer them on your site.

You can then refer to your files for other people to view as

http://www.myprovider.com/~myname/myfile.jpg

A little knowledge of html editing might help. There are also some
wysiwyg editors for free. Or, easier still, you might borrow a page
you like on the net, maybe change the background, add your own text
and pictures.

Ask your ISP. He should be able to provide a *little* help. Some
providers even have an interface to create web site. Here's the
interface provided by mine:

http://www.vif.com/htmltemplate/

You will find instructions on how to install and use ws_ftp here:

http://support.vif.com/dotcom/wsftp-install/
http://support.vif.com/dotcom/wsftp-connect/

This should work, whatever your provider.

Caution: You might end up having much more fun than you figured doing
this :)
