Weird Indoor Kitty

Our 10 year old very small 'tuxedo' kitty has taken to sneaking up on
us while we're not looking and running out the front door. She then
runs around the side of the house, through the cyclone fence type
gate, up the sun deck stairs and (if it's open) right back in through
the kitchen door.

If she gets out it's usually "Get the kitchen door open!" as she is
prone to run straight back in barely breaking stride the whole way.
It's as if she decides to go out jogging.

Can anyone suggest what might be going on?

Mine sleep most of the time but for a few minutes a day they tear around the
house like it's the Indy 500.  It is just one of those things cats do.

Sounds like she's having great fun!  She's made it a game and has you
trained to open the kitchen door "on queue" so to speak.   If she's always
been an indoor kitty, maybe she's testing the waters?  Either way, it sounds
harmless enough.  I'd be more concerned if she just bolted out and ran off
somewhere for a couple of days.  Maybe it's her way of getting attention...
try playing with her more frequently.

It's because she's a cat :)

Heh heh heh ... she did it twice again today. The only difference
today was that each time she stopped at the foot of the stairs leading
up to the sun deck (which is where the kitchen door is) to nibble on
the grass growing up between the concrete blocks. (She doesn't like
going out on the grass itself which is where the dog widdles)

Yes, there are times when my 2 cats do funny things, but Ginger Meggs
is so lazy, and is on a diet at present.  Put a capsule of Fish Oil
into a can of food which lasts around 3 days.  Makes it sloppy but it
seems that is how they like it.
His fur is looking much better not so dry as before or flakey.

Sounds like America's funniest home video. Maybe you could take a different
leg of her odyssey at different times so the camera would be positioned. I'd
watch it.
